is the final rankings list in a three-part series. We've included
fantasy football rankings for the 2005, 2006 and 2007 fantasy
football seasons. With these lists, you can chart the progress and
decline of the current stars of National Football League.
Obviously, the 2005 rankings should be compared against the 2007
fantasy football numbers to find scoring patterns in them. The stats
are three years old, so many names and faces have changed.
Fantasy Football Rankings for 2005
These fantasy football rankings are based on performances from
the 2005 NFL regular season (weeks 1 thru 17). The following scoring
system was used to calculate points:
- 1 pt. per 10 yards rushing or receiving
- 1 pt. per 25 yards passing
- 1 pt. per reception
- 6 pts. for rushing, receiving or passing touchdown
- 6 pts. for a kick or punt return
- 1 pt. per fumble recovery
- 1 pt. per interception
- 1 pt. for blocked field goals or extra points
- 1 pt. per sack
- 2 pts. per safety
- Defense scores points based on points allowed to opposing
team (this ranges from 21, for 0-2 pts., to zero for more than
21 pts. allowed).
- 6 pts. for a defensive or special teams touchdown
