 Every
new fantasy football season, team owners start searching through the
stats for last year. Though there are big changes in every offseason,
in the end, the draft is largely based on what happened last year.
While I wouldn't suggest drafting entirely off of last year's
numbers, you can find a few hidden gems when you look through the
final rankings for the 2007 fantasy football season.
Be sure to compare these rankings with the 2005 and 2006 lists to
get an idea of player consistency. The links for the 2005 and 2006
fantasy rankings are at the bottom of this page.
Fantasy Football Rankings for 2007
The list below includes the best players from the 2007 fantasy
football season.
The following scoring system was used to compile our rankings:
- 1 pt. per 10 yards rushing or receiving
- 1 pt. per 25 yards passing
- 1 pt. per reception
- 6 pts. for rushing, receiving or passing touchdown
- 6 pts. for a kick or punt return1 pt. per fumble recovery
- 1 pt. per interception
- 1 pt. for blocked field goals or extra points
- 1 pt. per sack
- 2 pts. per safety
- Defense scores points based on points allowed to opposing
team (this ranges from 21, for 0-2 pts., to zero for more than
21 pts. allowed).
- 6 pts. for a defensive or special teams touchdown
