Houston Texans Posters
NFL Posters – Houston Texans
While the team itself may struggle, Houston Texans posters are still popular with a number of NFL fans. Joining the league as an expansion team in 2002, the franchise defeated the Dallas Cowboys in their very first game.
Since so many NFL fans hate the Cowboys, this gave them an immediate boost in popularity. AllPosters.com has a growing selection of posters for the Texans and the other 31 NFL teams.
Houston Texans Posters – Andre Johnson
A standout receiver with the University of Miami, Johnson was the 3rd overall pick in the 2003 NFL Draft. He started all 16 games in his rookie season, posting totals of 1,142 yards and six touchdowns. In 2006, he led the league in receptions with 103. Although he’s missed some games due to injury, he’s still the Texans’ most dangerous offensive weapon.
There are several good Andre Johnson posters, but the best one feature Johnson hauling in a pass while a Browns defender stretches out his arm to try to deflect it. This poster puts the viewer right on top of the action.
Mario Williams – More Texans Posters
The first overall draft selection in 2006, Mario Williams plays defensive end for the Houston Texans. In his second season in the league, Williams finished the year with 59 tackles and 14 sacks. When he’s not on the football field, Williams enjoys video games and remote control cars and helicopters. He also has a gun collection that he’s very proud of.
In one poster, Williams looks really happy as he holds up a Texans jersey at the NFL draft. In another, he’s fighting past a Colts lineman to get at the quarterback. There’s also a nice 22 x 34 poster which has Williams seemingly running out of the poster , while him initials are reflected as mirror images behind him.
Houston Texans Football Posters – Amobi Okoye
A defensive tackle for the Texans, Amobi Okoye became the youngest player to ever be drafted in the first round of the NFL Draft. Born in Nigeria, Amobi moved to the United States when he was 12 years old. He learned to play football by competing at the Madden video games. He attended the University of Louisville, but he was offered an academic scholarship by Harvard.
There’s only one Amobi Okoye poster available, but expect a few more in the future. In the one available, he’s running forward and preparing to attack the line of scrimmage. While it won’t knock your socks off, fans of defensive lineman should be pleased.
Houston Posters- Reliant Stadium
Located in Houston, Texas, Reliant Stadium opened in 2002. Besides hosting the Houston Texans, it was also the location of Super Bowl XXXVIII in 2004. For three weeks in February and March, the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is held there. College football’s Texas Bowl is also featured annually.
There’s one great Reliant Stadium poster available, and it perfectly captures the enormity of the retractable-roof stadium. You can find it over at AllPosters.com.
Matt Schaub Posters
Matt Schaub was drafted in the third round of the 2004 draft by the Atlanta Falcons. After backing up Michael Vick for a couple of years, he was traded to the Texans in 2007. His first season with the Texans was marred by injuries, but he still managed to lead the team to a franchise-best 8-8 record.
I’m sure there will be more Matt Schaub items available after the 2008 season. Right now, there are just a few. One shows him in the act of passing, while he hands off to the running back in another one. Nothing special, but I’m hoping for better things in the future.
