Oakland
Raiders posters are loaded with silver and black, plus phrases like
“Just win, baby!” and “Commitment to excellence.” With a history of
recruiting malcontents and bad boys, you can be certain that there
are plenty of colorful posters in circulation. AllPosters.com has a
nice selection, and here’s a sampling of what’s available.Oakland Raiders Posters - JaMarcus RussellAfter leading LSU to a Sugar Bowl victory over Notre Dame, JaMarcus Russell was selected with the first overall pick in the 2007 NFL Draft. After holding out through part of the season, Russell made his first start in Week 17. He has already been named the team’s starting quarterback for the 2008 season. There’s a great 45 x 81 Fathead wall decal for Russell, as well as a couple of posters which show him passing the ball. Another shows him running down the field and breaking the tackle of a defender. For a guy who played very little in his rookie season, there are a surprising number of JaMarcus Russell posters available. Darren McFadden - New Raiders PostersAllposters doesn't have Darren McFadden Raiders posters yet, but you can be that McFadden soon will have more posters than any other player on the Oakland roster. Al Davis loves this kid's 4.2 speed and big play ability, enough that he drafted McFadden despite the Raiders' depth at the running back position. Oakland Raiders Team Logo PostersThe logo of the Raiders consists of a shield, crossed swords and a Raider wearing an old leather football helmet. One of the most recognizable logos in the NFL, it has been said that the Raider was modeled after actor Randolph Scott. There are a number of posters which feature the Raiders’ logo by itself or on a helmet. One reads “Commitment to Excellence,” while another called “Little Bruisers” features childlike versions of players such as Charles Woodson, Jerry Rice, Rich Gannon and Warren Sapp. Kenny Stabler Posters - Oakland Raiders GreatsFrom 1970 to 1979, Kenny “The Snake” Stabler played quarterback for the Raiders. He led the team to their first Super Bowl victory and was selected to four Pro Bowls. Stabler is the team’s all-time leader in completions, passing yards and touchdowns. There are only a couple available, but fans of old school football will love the Ken Stabler posters. He’s also featured on a semi-creepy “Legends of the Bay” poster, which has childish versions of Stabler, Jack Tatum and Fred Biletnikoff. Raiders Posters - Robert GalleryThe second overall pick in the 2004 draft, Gallery plays offensive guard for the Raiders. While he has yet to live up to his high draft status, Gallery is still a valued player in the Raiders’ organization. In 2007, he was moved from tackle to guard, and his performance improved. Gallery is featured on one poster along with his teammates, while another pair show him looking for someone to block. The final Robert Gallery poster available has him holding a Raiders’ jersey at the NFL Draft. Javon Walker PosterSelected by the Packers in the 2002 NFL Draft, Walker would later play for the Broncos and then the Packers. After being voted to the Pro Bowl in 2004, he injured his ACL in the first game of 2005 and was placed on injured reserve. The following year, he was traded to the Broncos for a second round pick. He eventually became unhappy in Denver and was released by the team. The 2008 season will be his first with the Raiders. Since he hasn’t played with the Raiders yet, there are no Oakland Raiders Javon Walker posters at this time. After the 2008 season, however, expect to see a decent number of them at AllPosters.com and I'll put an example up. Oakland Raiders Football Posters - Howie LongTaken in the second round of the 1981 draft, Long would go on to play 13 years for the Oakland Raiders. Considered one of the best defensive ends to ever play the game, Long would also have success in movies and commercials. He is currently an analyst for FOX’s NFL coverage. The only Howie Long item available is a 47 x 80 Fathead wall decal. If you know a Howie Long fan, then this would make a perfect gift. Just be sure that you’ve got a lot of space available. |
